marketing strategy

The first month of my internship I was a sponge. I sat in on conversations, tried things out, said yes to projects and sucked in all information I could. I was eager to learn about what roles did and how an agency functioned.
For the majority of my time at Bonfire, I worked on a marketing strategy for the agency that was focused on thought leadership and convening. Bonfire’s aim was to grow, evolve, and scale while keeping its core values and unique expertise.
I looked at their exiting marketing from 10,000ft, talked with the team to understand their issues and needs, audited existing systems and researched what other agencies with a similar focus did differently.
From my research and insights I created webs to understand Bonfire’s marketing ecosystem and moving parts, created a large scale internal marketing strategy and steps and goals for the next year as well as accompanying decks so the team could all be on the same page.
The strategy honed in on how to use social channels alongside blogs, print, email, events and networks to best position the agency as a brand.
Aside from the marketing strategy project, as an Intern, I conceptualized and launched the agencies Linkedin blog, and managed all socials. I sat in on conversations with clients and account managers and helped on admin projects ranging from partner retention plans, invoicing, scheduling to events and parties. Additionally, I helped on various graphics projects including a new logo that was embroidered on company backpacks and stickers.
